Dr Johannes Sittard
Non-Executive Chairman
Dr Johannes Sittard brings a rich experience of over 40 years in the metals & mining industry. He has held leadership positions and has constantly leveraged his expertise on the sector through senior management and Executive Board-level leadership roles in various organizations.
In the past, he has been Non-Executive Chairman and CEO of ENRC (now ERG), Chairman of International Minerals Resources, and President and COO of Mittal Steel (now ArcelorMittal).
Academically, he holds Bachelor’s Degree in Iron & Steel from Technical University, Berlin, and Master’s in Iron & Steel and Doctorate in Metallurgy from Clausthal–Zellerfeld University.

Jai has over 30 years of experience acquiring, setting up and turning around companies in the steel and metals & mining sectors around the globe; he’s played various roles on the Executive Board, in senior management and in operational and financial positions.
Before starting Nithia, Jai was CEO of International Mineral Resources, CFO of ENRC (now ERG), Finance Director of Mittal Steel (now ArcelorMittal), and Finance Director of various operating companies of Mittal Steel. Later he founded and was CEO of International Chrome Holdings and Turchrome.
Jai is a Chartered Accountant and holds Master’s Degree in Finance and Business.
Rajib has 20 years of experience in investment banking, capital markets and M&A in various geographies across the world.
Prior to Nithia, Rajib was Chief Investment Officer at Zamin Resources, Managing Director (Emerging Markets) at Royal Bank of Canada, Vice President at Citibank(London), Vice President at JM Morgan Stanley.
He is a CFA charter holder and has a Master’s Degree in Business and Administration.
Operations & Management
Vijoy has over 40 years of experience in the steel industry across M&A, consulting and commercial roles.
Before joining Nithia, Vijoy started his career at Tata Steel where he held several leadership positions across multiple departments. He has also served as general manager in Essar, vice president (commercial) in Kalyani Group, executive director in JSPL, as country manager (Asia Pacific) for Suncoke Energy USA, and as an industry expert with EY.
Vijoy has a BTech (Metallurgy) from NIT, Jamshedpur and is an alumnus of XLRI, Jamshedpur and ISB, Hyderabad.
Strategy & Business Development
Anil Kumar Bangur, has more than 25 years of experience in finance, accounting, taxation, commercial and operations management in the mining and metal industries.
In previous roles he has served as CFO (Copper and Cobalt Division) of ENRC Africa. Prior to that he was CFO for Chambishi Metals Plc and Luanshya Copper Mines in Zambia. Anil also served on various key managerial positions now Arcelor Mittal Lazaro Cardenas.
Anil is an Associate member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India and a Gold Medallist from Banaras Hindu University.
Ankit has over 10 years’ experience in cross functional activities of Corporate Finance – M&A, Due Diligence, Fund Raising, Project Advisory, Credit, Treasury, MIS and Audits.
Previous roles include: AVP (Investment Banking) at SBI Capital Markets, Manager at CRISIL, Finance Executive at Landmark Group, Associate (Business Advisory) at PwC.
Ankit is a Chartered Accountant and CFA Charter holder.
Technical Support
Rajgopal has over 37 years of experience in the steel industry focused on steel plant operation and specialising on ferro – alloys.
This experience was gathered at Steel Authority of India (SAIL) where he reached the position of VP Projects in charge of commissioning new plants and also overseeing Quality Assurance on successful commissioning of these plants. He has been involved in several successful capital expenditure programs since.
Rajgopal is a triple gold medallist in Master's degree Chemistry and an MS in Metallurgical Engineering.
AD Kannian has over 35 years’ experience in the steel industry operations, projects and materials management.
This experience was gathered at Steel Authority of India (SAIL) where he specialised in setting up and commissioning of steel melting shops, stabilizing industrial operations and training of personnel.
Kannian has a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering and an Associate Member of the Indian Institute of Metals.
Legal, Administration & Financial Support
Waseem has over 15 years cross-border experience in strategy, finance and corporate development in the metals & mining, steel, oil & gas and infrastructure sectors.
Prior to joining Nithia, Waseem worked for the founder of one of India’s largest conglomerates, was Chief of Staff to the CEO of Essar Steel, strategy consultant at CRU Strategies, and General Manager at Wahome Steel, Ghana.
Waseem holds BSc (Hons) in Computer Science from the University of Reading; an MPhil in Industrial Systems, Manufacture and Management from Cambridge University and studied Corporate Finance at the London Business School.
Sudharshan has over 15 years’ experience in M&A, internal audit and due diligence roles across several jurisdiction globally including India, UK, Brazil, Uruguay & Turkey.
Previous roles include: Head of Consulting at Singhi & Co., Chartered Accountant at Ernst & Young.
Sudharshan is a Chartered Accountant and is Honours graduate from Shri Ram College of Commerce, New Delhi.
Vijay has over 45 years of experience in Metals & Mining and has held various technical and senior managerial positions.
Before starting with Nithia, he was in various technical roles with firms such as with Gold search Technical Services (Zimbabwe), Chambishi Metals (Zambia) and Feni Industries (Macedonia). His senior management roles include operations at ArcelorMittal in Kazakhstan, Trinidad, Algeria and Poland. In India he has previously worked at Steel Authority of India (SAIL).
Vijay holds a first class Bachelor’s Degree holder in Mechanical Engineering from University of Mysore.
Phillip has over 25 years as an US trained international lawyer specializing in finance and major projects.
Prior to founding Rosenblatt & Company, Phillip was a Partner of the Cairo office of Baker & McKenzie and a member of Baker & McKenzie´s Project Finance Group.
Phillip has a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from University of the State of New York and a Juris Doctor from Fordham University Law School.
